The stocking house can pay the photographer either a specific amount after submitting the photographs, or they can decide to pay the photographer in a commission that is a certain percentage of the cost of each purchase of the photograph submitted. This means that the more the photo is purchased, the more money the photographer makes. Also, some stocking houses can pay the photography based on both strategies, a fixed amount after submitting the photograph and commission on the purchases made on the photograph.
